Federal guidance points to a 60-day window to apply. In practice, many behavioral-health notices now run about 30 days, and the shortest give just three to four weeks.
Application caps
A growing number of notices cap how many applications they accept, often the first 50 to 70 complete submissions, then close the portal, sometimes before the posted deadline.
No grants office
Most social-service organizations don't have a grants team to scan the full federal registry for the handful of opportunities they can actually win.

Eligibility is a hard gate from the notice's own applicant list. Fit is a model read, clearly labeled. We never blend them into one number, because a single score can be confidently wrong about the thing that costs you a week.
No accounts, no database
No accounts, no database. To build your results, what you type is sent to the federal registry and an AI model, then discarded. Fair Shot does not store it. Those outside services handle data under their own terms, so do not enter confidential or client-identifying information.

Fair Shot Grants is a free tool that helps social-service organizations spot federal funding worth a closer look, plus free educational guides about the federal grant process. It is a starting point for your own research, not a decision.
Artificial intelligence limitations. Fair Shot uses AI to help search, summarize, match, or organize information. You should not rely on AI-generated output without independently verifying it against the official grant listing and other authoritative sources.
No warranty. Fair Shot is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that results are accurate, complete, current, or suited to your organization. Grant data comes from third-party and government sources that can be incomplete, delayed, or wrong, and opportunities can change or close without notice.
Not professional advice. Nothing on this site, including the matcher and any guides or resources, is legal, financial, grant-writing, or other professional advice, and using it creates no professional relationship.
Eligibility is yours and the grantor's to determine. Fair Shot does not determine your eligibility and does not decide awards. Whether your organization qualifies for any opportunity is determined solely by you and by the grantor. Confirm eligibility, deadlines, award amounts, and every requirement against the grantor's official listing before you rely on anything here or invest time in an application. The official listing is the only source of truth.
What you enter. Do not enter confidential, proprietary, personal, or legally protected information into the matcher. This includes any information that identifies the people your organization serves.
To build your results, what you type is sent to two outside services: the federal Simpler.Grants.gov API and an AI model operated by Anthropic. Fair Shot has no user accounts and no database. We do not intentionally store what you enter and do not retain it after your search. We cannot control how those outside services, or the platform hosting this site, handle data on their own systems. Each processes information under its own terms and privacy practices, which may include retaining requests for a limited period for security, logging, or abuse-prevention purposes.
Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fair Shot Grants and its creator are not liable for any loss, missed opportunity, cost, application expense, data issue, damage, or other harm arising from your use of, or reliance on, this site, the matcher, or any guide or resource it provides. You use it at your own discretion and risk.
